Matt Lucas and David Walliams to write and star in new BBC comedy

BBC One have announced that comedy partners Matt Lucas and David Walliams have been commisioned to write and star in a new comedy series.

‘Come Fly With Me’ (working title) is written by and stars the Little Britain duo and is set in a busy airport.

The six-part show will feature all new characters played by Matt and David and will include special guest appearances each week.

Jay Hunt, Controller BBC One said: “It’s thrilling that Matt and David’s next big show will be on BBC One. They are uniquely talented comic writers and performers and Come Fly With Me is a wonderfully exciting idea.”

David Walliams ties the knot with model Lara Stone

Following his stag on Thursday, David Walliams tied the knot with model Lara Stone yesterday at Claridges.

The guest list read like a who’s who of British comedy including comedy partner Matt Lucas, Jimmy Carr, Jonathan Ross, James Cordon to name a few.

The ceremony took place at Claridges before guests travelled across town to exclusive members club Shoreditch House to continue the partying into the small hours.

No expense was spared as the club was decked out in white roses and a disco ball suspended above the roof top pool where guests were entertained with synchronised swimming from Aquabatix.

I wonder if guest Russell Brand, who attended without his fiancee Katy Perry, was taking notes for his own forthcoming nuptials?

David Walliams has the quietest stag ever!

Despite saying that he loves wearing drag, David Walliams’ stag involved no dressing up and no wild antics!

Walliams, who is getting married on Sunday to model Lara Stone, celebrated being a bachelor on a star studded night out.

All the obvious names were there, Matt Lucas, James Corden, David Baddiel, and there were a couple of surprising guests too including David Furnish (no sign of Elton) and one ‘laydee’ Natalie Imbruglia.

Their first stop was Nobu and then the group moved downstairs for drinks in the Met Bar until 4am.

Let’s hope the wedding on Sunday is more fun than the stag!

Little Britain duo embrace World Cup Fever

By mid-May (when the elections are done and dusted and we most likely have a new Government) a fever is going to spread across the UK.

World-Cup fever!

But for you papturers who dislike the game, you can still feast on all the celebrities that are getting involved.

Today, David Walliams and a very thin Matt Lucas are shooting a World Cup advert for Nationwide, with Fabio and ‘the boys’.

This, without a doubt, will be an amusing advert and is a little more interesting than Chico releasing a world cup anthem.

Baddiel and Skinner are jumping back on the band wagon and releasing a new version of 3 Lions.

If you are dreading this wave of football fever that is soon to take over our country, good luck in avoiding it!

When these 3 comedy heavyweights get together you know a great movie is on its way.

Paul Rudd and Steve Carell are back together again for the first time since, ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin’, although this time they are joined by Zach Galifianakis (the hilarious new guy from The Hangover). They all star in a new comedy which is set to be released in August.

‘Dinner for Scmucks’ directed by Jay Roach, involves Rudd having to bring a ‘schmuck’ (Carell) to dinner as part of a game to try and impress his boss.

And what’s more brilliant, you can see some great cameos from David Walliams, Jermaine Clement and Kristen Schaal (both from Flight of the Conchords).

The film is a remake of French movie, ‘The Dinner Game’, which is a hilarious black 1998 comedy.

I just hope this film is as funny as expected, nobody wants another let down like ‘The Invention of Lying’!

Sharon Osbourne: “I’ve donated my favourite Burberry coat for the Give Up Clothes for Good campaign.”

David Walliams: “I’ve donated my favourite Tom Ford suit to the campaign. It’s dark grey and I’ve looked outrageously smart in it in the past.”

Matt Lucas to star in remake of ‘Fidler on the Roof’

Papture has already mentioned that Matt Lucas may be splitting from David Walliams to start a Hollywood career, it seems we were spot on again.

After his Hollywood success in ‘Alice in Wonderland’, Matt Lucas has been lined up to take the lead role in a remake of 1970′s musical, ‘Fiddler on the Roof’.

Matt has been a massive fan of the movie and is calling his agent the ultimate ‘matchmaker’ for making it happen.

With Hollywood at his fingertips, he won’t be singing ‘If I were a rich man’ in real life.

Little Britain stars Lucas and Walliams may have to split

In his first Hollywood performance, Matt Lucas left the ‘Alice in Wonderland‘ audiences in hysterics with his extremely amusing portrayal of both ‘TweedleDee’ and ‘Tweedledum’.

Lucas has been asked to fly over to LA for more auditions as top movie bosses are bidding to secure him in future comedy blockbusters.

When asked if Lucas was going to try and bring David Walliams over to the USA as well, Lucas suggested that Walliams is ‘too busy’ with his new fiancee, Lara Stone.

With the way that celebrity marriages are going at the minute, maybe Walliams will have time to have a little fun in la la land…..

Sport Relief: Fearne and Davina bond as David and Jimmy fight

It is the time of year when David Walliams rounds up his friends and bullies them into taking part in a sporting challenge to raise money for Sport Relief.

This year the challenge is for seven celebrities to cycle 1000 miles, from John O’Groats to Lands End, in four days and raise £1m.

David Walliams, Jimmy Carr, Fearne Cotton, Miranda Hart, Patrick Kielty, Davina McCall and Russell Howard set off yesterday.

Patrick Kielty had his first ride at 4am in temperatures as low as -15 degrees, which was made worse by him having a ‘frozen water bottle’. By the end of the ride he was a ‘broken man’ desperate for sleep.

Davina and Fearne also cycled through the night, however Fearne was particularly unlucky as she managed to get a puncture.

According to Davina the team are really bonding, although how long is it going to be before they are all exhausted from the cycling and have been cooped up in a bus with each other and the fights start?

I’m really hoping that David Walliams and Jimmy Carr are the first to break – at least it would be a hilarious fight to watch!
